and secure.

Main Hall -40ft x 32ft and Dormitory - 40ft x 28ft.
GENERAL INFORMATION
All heating and cooking in the centre is electric.
A full inventory of equipment can be supplied on booking along with a "facts Sheet" for local contacts such as Doctors, Fire, Police etc.
CLEANING MATERIALS
for the safety and convenience of all hirers, Herons Lodge Guiding Centre supplies all cleaning materials for use in the building. These items along with mops, buckets, vacuum cleaners and brooms are kept in the cleaning cupboard. However...YOU ARE EXPECTED TO BRING YOUR OWN BLACK SACKS, TOILET ROLLS AND WASHING UP LIQUID.
Guiding Shop
The Guiding Shop, which is located on the 1st floor of the building, is open every Saturday from 10am until 1pm from September until July. It closes for Christmas and the School Summer Holiday period. Please see the separate page on this website, click on the "Shop" icon on the left hand side margin
Campsite
There is an unequipped campsite situated 75m away from the house, on
the opposite side of the stream.
The campsite has sufficient space for
a camp of 30.
Campers have the use of an outside water supply, a store room with a larder fridge and access to the toilet and shower block inside the building (accessed from the rear door)
Gas cooking is advisable. Altar fires
are permitted, although please note there is no natural wood on site.(All donations gratefully received!)

Residential Fees
Arriving at Herons Lodge On arrival you will be met by a volunteer at the site and shown
around. You will be given a brief induction about the site and the
relevant safety rules will be explained to you. If you are not familiar with
any equipment in the house, your host will show you how to operate it before
they leave you to settle in. On departure When the time comes to leave Herons
Lodge, your host will come to meet you so that you formally ‘sign out’ before
making your way home. All hirers are reminded that the centre should be fully cleaned and all bins emptied (black bags to be placed inside the BIFFA bin at the end of the car park - NOT left on the ground.) In the event of additional cleaning having to be done after your stay, you may not get your deposit cheque returned. Should any damage or breakages occur during your stay please report them and we will ask for the cost of replacement or repair.
Pre-arrival Check List Have you:-. Confirmed the number in your party and sent appropriate payment at least 2 weeks prior to your arrival date to the booking secretary? Sent a separate £50 damage/cleaning deposit cheque with the final payment? Confirmed your planned arrival and departure time?
