Should you wish to make a booking or have any enquiries concerning booking, please contact our booking secretary on 07904 350543 or by email: bkgs.heronslodge@yahoo.co.uk.
The minimum booking time is 2 hours and all hirers should allow time for setting up and clearing away within the hire period booked. There is no caretaker, and the hirer is responsible for leaving the premises as found, in that the floors must be vaccummed or mopped and the tables returned to original positions. Our largest hall will accommodate a maximum of 80 people
All Hirers should be aware that the Centre does not have any licence for the sale of alcohol or entertainment. It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that the appropriate licences are applied for prior to the party. Herons Lodge Management Committee accept no liability for any function cancelled as a result of the appropriate licences not being obtained.
All parties must end by 11.30pm promptly, as Herons Lodge is in a residential area.
As you may require more time to set up for a special event, and also tidy up following the reception, we are happy to discuss a special 'WeddingRate'. This will give you sole use of the ground floor of the building from Friday evening until midnight on Saturday. You will also have Sunday morning for the clearing up
The large grass area outside the building lends itself to having a marquee for larger receptions, with access to the centre for toilet and kitchen facilities.
On arrival you will be met by a volunteer at the site and shown around. You will be given a brief induction about the site and the relevant safety rules will be explained to you. If you are not familiar with any equipment in the house, your host will show you how to operate it before they leave you to settle in. The building is well insulated and secure, all heating and cooking appliances are electric.
On departure: When the time comes to leave Herons Lodge, your host will come to meet you so that you formally ‘sign out’ before making your way home.
All hirers are reminded that the centre should be fully cleaned and all bins emptied (black bags to be placed inside the BIFFA bin at the end of the car park - NOT left on the ground.) In the event of additional cleaning having to be done after your stay, you may not get your deposit cheque returned. Should any damage or breakages occur during your stay please report them and we will ask for the cost of replacement or repair.
A full inventory of equipment can be supplied on booking along with a "facts Sheet" for local contacts such as Doctors, Fire, Police etc. For the safety and convenience of all hirers, Herons Lodge Guide Centre supplies all cleaning materials for use in the building. These items along with mops, buckets, vacuum cleaners and brooms are kept in the cleaning cupboard. However, you are expected to bring your own black sacks, toilet rolls and washing up liquid.
